Skill level of your team

Each work group will have a ‘skilled’ crew leader (foreman) and a ‘safety coordinator’ responsible for each work site. When assigning work sites, it is a great help to know the various construction skills and level of expertise for each adult in your group. The ideal ratio of skilled to unskilled volunteers is 1:5 (one skilled volunteer to five unskilled volunteers) to maximize the quality of the experience for both the Mission group and the program. We also like to know what types of work you prefer and what types you do NOT prefer. Scott Shaw will contact you to discuss the group’s skill level and plan appropriately for your work week.

Housing Information

Volunteer team housing is provided at no additional cost to the group, and it includes a sleeping space, kitchen, and bathroom facilities. We have up to 50 cots available for use, beds, or bedding at this time. So we suggest you bring single size air mattresses or camp cots for your comfort. We have several housing options within our Downeast Campus in Cherryfield. The choice depends on the time of year and the size of your group.

All our facilities have fully-equipped kitchens. Volunteer groups are responsible for preparing their own meals. RV space and tenting areas are available and should be reserved with Manager Scott Shaw.
