Each year at Christmas time, the Mission distributes holiday gifts to children, families, the elderly, and nursing home residents.
Spreading Christmas cheer is one of the Mission’s oldest traditions. Our presents wrapped in white paper tied with red string are iconic. The tradition of Mission Christmas presents began more than 100 years ago with Mission gifts to island residents and lighthouse keepers.
For starters, the Mission has a virtual Elves’ Workshop this year. This opportunity is for certain families who need extra help this year with gifts for their children. Learn more here.
Also, we invite you to help the Mission put presents under trees for individuals and families unable to do it alone. Covid-19 has stretched budgets tighter and made shopping more difficult. You can order items from the Mission’s Amazon Christmas list. They will be shipped directly to the Mission.
You can also download our traditional Christmas Wish List for 2020. Gifts from the suggestions there should be mailed to these addresses:
- UPS Delivery: 39 Weald Bethel Lane
- US Postal Service Delivery: P.O. Box 428, Cherryfield, ME 04622
Gifting store “gift cards” is a great way to help. Gift cards can be mailed to Maine Seacoast Mission, Attn: Christmas Program, 6 Weald Bethel Lane, Cherryfield, ME 04622.
We also welcome online donations for our Christmas Program. Checks are welcome too. They should be mailed to Maine Seacoast Mission, PO Box 600, Northeast Harbor, ME 04662.
