This is Gavin Beal For his 7th birthday Gavin wanted to have his friends bring food to his party, instead of gifts, for people who did not have anything to eat! This very cool young man and his mom, Christen Beal of Cherryfield, ME came in to donate to the Mission’s Downeast Campus food pantry.

This Assabet Valley Regional Tech High School, MA housing repair group gives up their spring break to come make a difference in Downeast Maine!
Here are some photos of the volunteers bringing the kitchen of the Narraguagus Post 8 American Legion up to code. The Legion will be able to open up the kitchen for public use again after our volunteers help with the work this season.
On Saturday afternoon the volunteers attended the annual Smelt Fry and tried some local fare at the Downeast Salmon Federation in Columbia Falls, ME.
The Assabet Valley Regional Tech High School group also hosted and provided a full Easter Ham dinner with all the fixings at DETOP on Sunday! Learn more about the Mission’s Housing Rehabilitation Program.

Hi, Terri!
Last summer I began working as a clinical research intern at Eastern Maine Medical Center. While the position was unpaid last year, I am happy to say that I have been invited back to work a full-time, paid position this summer.
In the meantime, I’ve decided to pick up a double major in psychology at University of Rochester. I took 22 credits last semester and worked as a research assistant in the psychology department. This semester is my second working as a teaching assistant for the spring course, Principles of Biology II. I’m also Business Manager and Fundraising Chair of Women’s Club Basketball.
The Maine Seacoast Mission is the most supportive scholarship organization I am involved with, offering the most generous outside scholarship I received. Without this help, I would be struggling much more to pay for my undergraduate education.

Thank you, Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, MA, for hosting Easter Sunday’s Downeast Table of Plenty. The culinary arts students will cook a traditional Easter Dinner with ham and scallop potatoes.
Cherryfield, ME — Sunday afternoons, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. at our Downeast Table of Plenty, everyone is welcome to share satisfying, home-cooked meals.
People age two to ninety, from every segment of the community attend. Music, conversation, and laughter preside. Hunger and loneliness are nowhere in sight.
The Table of Plenty takes place in the EdGE building on our Downeast Campus every Sunday, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Meals are provided by volunteers.
