CHERRYFIELD, ME — Monica and Amity Chipman organized a toy drive for the Seacoast Mission’s Christmas program. A Milbridge retail and wholesale live lobster business, Chipman’s Wharf invited fishermen, customers, friends and family to donate new toys to the Mission.
The Chipman children delivered more than 50 toys to the Elves Workshop. Children in the photo are Nash, Maverick, Wesley, Elena, Madelyn and Isaac Chipman. Thank you.

“On Sunday, December 4th, the Downeast Table of Plenty’s 6th anniversary, we celebrated the Table of Plenty and the wonderful people who make it so special.
“We celebrated the people who cook the meals, those who set up and clean up, the loyal patrons who come every week, the musicians who share their gifts each week.”

CHERRYFIELD, ME — Laura Thomas is the English as a second language (ESL) teacher for RSU 37, an EdGE after school staff member, and coordinator of the Maine Seacoast Mission sponsored Milbridge Elementary School Food Cupboard.
In nominating Laura Thomas for the Maine Education Association’s Inspiring Educator award, fellow teacher Suzen Polk-Hofses wrote, in part, “…Laura Thomas…goes the extra mile for all our students at Milbridge Elementary[, and] truly understands the issue of food insecurity [some] students face…daily…. Laura is that type of educator that students look up to, that parents want their child to have, and that other educators strive to be,” said Ms. Polk-Hofses.
