Rev.
Scott Planting is the Executive Directorof the Maine Seacoast Mission. He began his duties as director in October, 2010, following the retirement of the Rev. Gary Delong. Prior to assuming his responsibilities with the Sea Coast Mission, Scott served a three-church parish in Western Maine for 35 years. In addition to pastoral ministry, Scott directed the work of Mission at the Eastward (MATE) a cooperative parish made up of congregations and community service ministries. READ

Anthony
Hessert is the Director of Finance and Administration.
He received his B.S. in Accounting Business Management
from Husson College. Previously, he held senior
leadership positions with Great Northern Paper and
Stinson Seafood. Most recently, Tony was vice president
and chief financial officer of Maine Potato Growers,
Inc. He has led youth programs for eighteen years
in Maine Youth Hockey, Boy Scouts, Little League,
and Rotary International Youth Exchange. Tony is
an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys breeding and training
German Shorthair Pointers. |

Marianne
Barnicle is the Mission’s volunteer
archivist. After a 40-year career as a teacher,
Marianne returned to her hometown of Bar Harbor
where she volunteered for the Bar Harbor Food Pantry
and the Mission’s Christmas Program. She began
working in the archives in 2005, and now works full-time
organizing the Mission’s large collection
of memorabilia covering its 103-year history. When
not volunteering for the Mission, Marianne loves
spending time with her two daughters and her grandson,
Connor. |

Sarah Clemens is the Development Associate.
She received her B.Ed. from UMF and her M.Ed. from
the University of Houston. She taught ten years
in first, second, and fourth grades. She has lived
in five states and three countries – Philippines,
South Korea, and Australia. She enjoys skiing, movies,
and spending time with her three children. |

Kathy
Jaensch is responsible for bookkeeping and
provides support for the Director of Finance and
Administration. Previously, she handled the controller
function for Hudson Williams, Inc., a New York based
computer consulting company. She has a degree in
Music Performance from SUNY Purchase and currently
plays clarinet with the Bangor Symphony. |

Heather Candon is the Christmas Program Coordinator. Heather moved to Mount Desert Island on a whim in 1996 and has called the island home ever since. She received her undergraduate degree from College of the Atlantic and has a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University. Heather has a love for mission-driven work and has a rich history of working in academia as well as the non-profit sector. When she's not donning her Mrs. Christmas costume, she enjoys music, the arts, and spending time outdoors. Please stop by the Colket Center and introduce yourself to Heather and visit the Christmas program office on the third floor. |

Terri
Rodick is the Executive Assistant with responsibility
for supporting the Executive Director and the scholarship
program. She has been with the Mission for eight
years. Prior to joining the Mission, Terri was licensed
to sell commercial lines of insurance for Knowles
Insurance. Terri and her daughter, Grace, enjoy
playing with their three dogs. |

Charles
Weber is the Colket Center caretaker. He
is a graduate of MDI High School and has been taking
classes at COA. He hopes to pursue a career in natural
resource management or sustainable agriculture.
Charles enjoys biking, hiking, sailing, and working
on his father’s organic farm in Lamoine. |

Nicole
Leighton is the receptionist at the Colket
Center. She also provides support to the finance
and development offices. Nicole is a lifelong resident
of Downeast Maine. She grew up in Columbia and graduated
from Narraguagus High School. Nicole enjoys camping,
downhill skiing, and all animals. |
